The Zoltner Consulting Group was a Santiago-based social enterprise that designed and managed innovative ICT-for-development projects across the Americas, with an emphasis on agricultural and rural development.
Its best-known product, DatAgro, was a multiple-award-winning mobile and SMS market-information service that raised the productivity of Chilean smallholder farmers and cooperatives. Alongside it came Yo Agricultor, an SMS information service commissioned by Chile's Ministry of Agriculture, and RuralTICNova, a CORFO-funded rural connectivity platform built with the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. The group's model – pairing appropriate technology with real economic value for underserved producers – became a template I carried into later work at FHI 360 and beyond.
